Split Fiction Hidden Items & Collectibles: The Complete Location Guide
The Completionist's Headache
Split Fiction has collectibles hidden in places that feel intentionally designed to frustrate completionists. Behind waterfalls. On top of structures you've already "finished." Inside rooms that only open after you've solved a puzzle and moved on , if you look back, there's a door that wasn't there before.
I found about 60% of the collectibles on my first playthrough. The rest required Chapter Select and a lot of backtracking. Here's everything I've found, chapter by chapter.
What Counts as a Collectible
- Terminal Logs (28 total): Background lore about Rader Publishing, the machine, and the characters. Each chapter has 3-5.
- Concept Art Pieces (16 total): Unlockable art from Hazelight's development process. Found in hidden rooms, usually behind breakable walls.
- Side Story Portals (12 total): Optional mini-chapters. Each one you complete adds a checkmark to the chapter select screen.
- Easter Egg Objects (8 total): References to It Takes Two, A Way Out, and other Hazelight history. These don't count toward 100% but they're the best finds.
Chapter 1 Collectibles
There are four Terminal Logs and one Concept Art piece in Chapter 1.
Terminal Log 1: On top of the pod you wake up in. Look up immediately after gaining movement control. Most people miss this because they walk forward without checking behind them.
Terminal Log 2: In the second lab room, on a desk to the left of the main corridor. It's the room with the first pressure plate puzzle.
Terminal Log 3: After the gravity-flip hallway, in a small office to the right. The door is unlocked but easy to walk past.
Terminal Log 4: The final room before the boss elevator. Check the computer console on the left wall.
Concept Art #1: During the boss fight with the Corrupted Overseer, there's a breakable panel on the far wall (opposite where you enter). Break it open and the art piece is inside. You have to grab it mid-fight, which is annoying but doable on a second run with Chapter Select.
Chapter 2 Collectibles
Five Terminal Logs, two Concept Art pieces, and the first two Side Story portals.
Terminal Log 1: Behind the waterfall five minutes into the chapter. This is also where Side Story Portal #1 is, so you're getting two things at once.
Terminal Log 2: On a floating island accessed by a hidden wind current. After the creature-riding section, turn around and look for an updraft near the canyon wall. Ride it to a small island with the log.
Terminal Log 3: Inside the rotating tower, on the second floor. You'll see it while climbing , it's on a ledge to your left that you can reach during the puzzle.
Terminal Log 4: After the tower puzzle, on the roof. Rotate the tower once more after the puzzle is solved to extend a platform.
Terminal Log 5: In the boss arena, behind a pile of thorns on the right side. Burn them with fire seeds.
Concept Art #2: Inside the hollow tree near the chapter's midpoint. Same location as Side Story Portal #2 ("The Painter").
Concept Art #3: After defeating the Thorn Colossus, look behind the throne that appears during the victory cutscene. It's missable if you walk to the exit immediately.
Side Story Portal #1: Behind the waterfall near the chapter start. "The Great Escape" , farm animal breakout.
Side Story Portal #2: Inside the giant hollow tree at the chapter's midpoint. "The Painter" , tied to Zoe's backstory.
Chapter 3 Collectibles
This chapter is dark and underwater, which makes collectibles harder to spot. Use the hacking tool to activate emergency lights in dark rooms , they reveal hidden paths.
Terminal Log 1: In the first underwater corridor, behind a crate on the right side. The crate is movable if both players push it together.
Terminal Log 2: Security room where one player monitors cameras. Look under the console.
Terminal Log 3: After the stealth section, in the locker room. Third locker from the left.
Terminal Log 4: In the boss arena, on a raised platform accessible during Phase 2 when the water level drops.
Concept Art #4: Behind a breakable vent in the corridor leading to the stealth section.
Side Story Portal #3: In the locker room, inside the last locker on the right. "The Deep Dive" , underwater exploration Side Story.
Chapter 4 Collectibles
Terminal Logs 1-3: Scattered across floating platforms during the wind current sections. One per major platform cluster. Hard to miss if you explore each platform fully.
Terminal Log 4: In the gryphon's nest before the riding sequence begins.
Concept Art #5: At the very top of the highest floating island in the chapter. You need to chain wind currents to reach it.
Side Story Portal #4: On a small island left of the main path, about halfway through the chapter. "The Painter's Return" , sequel to Chapter 2's Side Story.
Chapter 5 Collectibles
Hardest chapter for collectibles because you're busy not dying.
Terminal Logs 1-2: In the conveyor belt areas. But both are in side rooms that require one player to hold a door open while the other enters.
Terminal Log 3: After the second crusher corridor, in a maintenance shaft to the left.
Concept Art #6: Hidden behind the final crusher in the boss corridor. You need to wait for the crusher to rise, slide underneath, and the art piece is in a small alcove.
Side Story Portal #5: In a side room before the boss fight. "The Factory Floor" , assembly line puzzle Side Story.
Chapter 6 Collectibles
Easier chapter. More forgiving layout for exploration.
Terminal Logs 1-4: All along the main path through the Forgotten Woods. Look for glowing mushrooms , each cluster marks a collectible location.
Concept Art #7: In the Shadow Weeper's arena, behind a stone pillar on the far side. Grab it before or after the fight.
Side Story Portal #6: Inside a hollow log off the main path. "The Lantern Keeper" , puzzle Side Story involving light mechanics.
Chapter 7 Collectibles
Zero-G makes these frustrating. Use Chapter Select for cleanup.
Terminal Logs 1-3: Floating in zero-G sections. Look for blinking red lights , they mark collectible locations.
Concept Art #8: In the room before the Event Horizon fight. Check behind the holographic display.
Side Story Portal #7: In the zero-G cargo bay. "The Signal" , communication-based puzzle Side Story.
Chapter 8 Collectibles
No collectibles during the escape sequence. All Chapter 8 collectibles are in the corridors before the final boss, and in the boss arena itself.
Terminal Logs 1-2: In the pre-boss corridor.
Concept Art #9: Behind the Machine's throne in the boss arena. Grab it after the fight or during a lull in Phase 1.
Side Story Portals #8-12: The remaining five Side Stories are scattered across Chapters 2-7. I haven't found every single one yet , if you discover one I missed, the portal locations are consistent across playthroughs, so share it somewhere.
The Fastest Way to 100%
Finish the game once without worrying about collectibles. You'll naturally find about half of them. Then use Chapter Select to revisit specific chapters. Chapter Select preserves your collectible progress, so you can jump straight to the chapter and section you need, grab the missing item, and quit. No need to finish the chapter.
There are more situations where this applies, but you get the idea. Not every mechanic needs its own paragraph.
